Blast from the past

Not much to show in the way of updates to my guard, but I was moving some stuff around earlier and found some old models. You'll have to forgive the painting, they've been painted numerous times by various children.

I can actually remember putting these together. Now for some metal models .....

And finally, does anyone recognise this beauty?

Well, back to the painting, laters folks.

That brings all my old 2nd Edition memories just flooding back!

Wow.

That is some serious old-school loving, up to and including the old, old dreads.

I remember some vets lamenting about how in the old days you could get a full squad for like $15. On one hand, I can see the allure of getting an army for a third of the cost, but on the other? In some cases, I'm willing to deal with a somewhat higher price because I can see that the models have come a LOOOONG way (...though the old dread is still kinda sweet).

Then there's stupid stuff like $60 plastic termies (...and who's NOT going to buy an AoBR set, a few bits, and part out the rest of that thing instead of getting termies?)

Very nice. I think the plastics actually look better than the metal models, for some reason...

I have three of those dreads waiting to be turned into Mechanicum support droids of some sort...
