I thought I'd do a quick post on the progress of Harker's Squad. As I posted earlier, Harker's cloak got broke. This wasn't an accident, I did it because I've been playing around with sculpting cloaks and I reckoned that my newer type cloaks looked better than his old one which was very bumpy and patchily put together.
I've always liked the look of the flatter cloaks, compared to the more bulky fold styles ones. Dave Taylor has some excellent ones on his Tanith squad over on his blog. So, I bit the bullet and gave it a go. They're not perfect but for a first go, they turned out ok. First off, here's Harker ...
Next up, we have the lasgunners ....
Then the special weapon guys ....
Finally, here's the missile launcher team and the demo guy ...
There's still a bit of work to do on them such as adding the hoods and clasps on the cloaks. So guys, what do you reckon, do you think I've managed to pull it off?

Ah, you fooled me with your last post Colonel but you know what they say : "Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, we'won't get fooled again!"
And, yes, I think the new cloaks look better so it was well worth the effort :)
Looking sharp
Some great work there Colonel; and yes - an improvement!
Totally agree - the unit as a whole looks great.
Nice flat design so you can get some great camo going without worrying about following flow lines etc.
Have you thought about weathering the bottoms slightly (ie fraying)?

Looking good mate. I have to agree, these cloaks look much better. They look "less heavy", I think that's what you were going for.
Cheers.
The new cloaks do look quite nice, as well as the squad as a whole. Very fine work!
While I think these capes look pretty good Col, I think that you're missing one of the beauties of the fold cloaks - the folds mean they've got extra fabric and can wrap around and give more complete coverage of the guy wearing them. Not only does it allow them to be used for (more total) concealment, but also for warmth, etc.
While I know these are miniature men, not real men, I think considerations like these bear taking into account.
But again, having said that, these look good. Could use a few small wrinkle lines further down though.
Great work. Mind you they are cape type cloaks. The second photo of Harker is totally Superman!
Fantastic work on the greenstuff mate, looks really realistic! Even tho its a sin to alter catachan junglefighter models ;)
@The Antipope - You weren't the only one I fooled muwhahaha! Glad you like the new cloaks.
@Rath of Un - Cheers mate.
@Admiral Drax - Thanks mate, I think so too!
@Rogue Pom - Cheers mate, I'm hoping to progress on to fraying and tears on the next batch now I've got the basics down.
@Col. Hessler - Thanks mate, that's exactly what I was going for, so I'm pretty please I've managed to pull it off.
@Papa JJ - Cheers mate, glad you like them. The cloaks really do pull the squad together now.
@Jake - Thanks mate, looking back, I realise that they could have had more folds but I won't tell you how much swearing was involved in get the folds I've got in them done, never mind more - lol. Hopefully, I'll be adding more folds in the next batch now I've got the hang of it.
@GDMNW - Cheers mate, yeah, I've still got to add the hoods, that's a whole new challenge! Spot on with the superman comment, I hadn't noticed until you mentioned it.
@Rasmus Olesen - Thanks mate, it can't be that much of a sin to catachens a more modern para look ;-)
