Ambulances hold a special place in my heart as I served as a medic in the Royal Army Medical Corps (RAMC). Here's a few pics just of some of the ambulances that have been in service in the British army in the past decade. First off, we have the old long wheel base Land Rover 3/4 tonne ambulance. I learned to drive in one of these.
Next up we have the larger 1 tonnes Land Rover. I actually did my civilian test in one of these as the 3/4 tonne was off road one the day of the test. The lady examiner was very impressed if you know what I mean ;-)
The FV 432 - an all round apc which serves as everything from a command vehicle to a mortar platform. Seriously fun to drive.
FV-104 - Samaritan
Check out the stowage on the FV 432 (the second one)
That's enough of the pics, I hope you liked my little homage to Brit army ambulances. I'm off to get my own painted up.

Thanks for that little preview! Your ambulance is lookin' good too.
But dang, now you make me wish I had driven an APC.
Thats deffo a smaritan, scimitar is smaller and has a 76mm gun, good armour though it can just about stop a .50 cal LOL.

Is that an echo?
Hang on a mo, isnt it the scorpian with the 76mm and scimitar with a rarden 30mm?
Lovely stuff, Corbane...and what a smashing idea! Well done you!
Thanks for sharing.
Good work Sir! I haven't seen this kind of conversion in a long time :)
Cheers guys. Thanks for clearing that up Tol, I've updated it now.
Say what you will, but I love the old Huey's they used in the Korean war. I know they were underpowered and could only carry around 4 people tops. Speed is usually better for ambulances than armour..
Good stuff here, mate. Any chance you will be doing a VDR for it?
I was wondering what the stowage hoops were going to be used for here. Great looking vehicle, and I enjoyed the story behind it.
Excellent work! I really like what you did with the Chimera. This tank could work real well in a Cities of Death game, where you can actually put it to use for a medical stratagem.
The ambulance looks very cool, and brings a bit of strange realism to the game. I can't wait to see it fully painted. Since 40k is the far future, what about adding some medical servitor skulls or robotic arms? The tanks is perfect as is, but if the forge world masterclass book has taught us anything...just go overboard! :)
Cheers guys, not sure if I'm going to come up with any rules for it as it's a modelling project more than anything.
@Drath - I'm not really into all the 40k technogothic stuff, I prefer to tone it down a bit.
Hopefully, I'll have it painted up by the end of the weekend.
