Doc Butcher finished

I finished Doc Butcher last night, overall I'm pretty pleased with how he's come out. I went a little OTT with the blood on the apron, that's what happens when you try to paint at 2am when you should be sleeping. I did add a bone saw at the request of a few of the guys on the Bols forum.

It took me three attempts to get the teeth right and the handle was a real challenge but it worked out quite well in the end. One thing I did realise when I was painting him up was that in future, I need to sculpt more texture / creases on arms, aprons or any other large flat areas. With the Doc's arms being mainly flat, when it came to painting them, they turned out flat. So, that's the first sculpting lesson I've learned since starting sculpting, hopefully, I won't repeat that mistake again.

Finally, I had a play with one of the biker bases John at Spectre hobbies sent me. I'm sure you can guess where I'm going with this one.

An Imperium Olympiad, these being the parallel bars?

I look forward to the conversion of a space marine doing that baton/ribbon twirling event...

Hah, I too thought parallel bars at first!
The bone saw helps sell this one. Nicely done.

Hey, he reminds me of some Navy Corpsman I know...LOL.

Nice work, although I am not sure he should give a unit feel no pain...maybe more like fearless...cuz you really don't want him to operate on you.

The stretcher promises to be a thing of beauty.

Cheers.

Very nice work! On regular troops, that much blood spatter tends to look odd or gratuitous (unless you're a Khornite loony), but honestly I think that on this model it really works well. The model shouts "hey, battlefield surgery just isn't a clean an clinical affair." Love the bonesaw as well! Great stuff all around.

The doc turned out well! I don't think there is too much blood, but perhaps darken some areas and lighten others to make it look like he has been out there for a while cutting the men up.

He looks good and I don't think the blood is too much, especially for a field surgeon.
