Stretcher bearers finished

I've been pretty busy lately with various projects but I managed to finish up the stretcher bearers for 462 Field Ambulance. Soz the pics arn't brilliant, the light here has just be horrendous and these were the best I could do after an hour of trying to take some decent ones. I'm really going to have to invest in a lightbox, if anyone has any good recommendations on where I can buy one in the UK, please let me know.

Anyway, back to the pics ........

All that's left to do is to make up and paint the treatment tent, which I'll be starting this weekend, so expect pics soon. Once that's done, it'll be another project finished and time to move on to 1st (Vet) platoon, which means having a play with Harker and some green stuff. I think I'm going to have to get my hands on some plastic catachens as the metal ones I've got arn't going to be up to conversion job I want to do.

Fantastic work Colonel! This has 5to be one of the coolest conversions I've ever seen. Nice one yo!

Loving how you got the saturation nice on the flesh. Hahah. :-p

Cool looking model, will fit amazing on a fully army board? I do have one complaint though... all that is a bit extreme for a paper cut?

The camo pattern you have chosen is bang on; simple yet extremely effective. Nice touch with the red cross symbol on the backpacks.

I too I am going to be making the leap for a light box as I feel my photos are lacking. I'm going to be buying mine from www.thinkgeek.com.

Looks great! I can't wait to see them all set up with stretcher tent, doc, patient & tent!

Stunning

I love these guys and the whole set will look fantastic.

If i had 1 development point to offer you, it would be that the blood is a little too red, and a little too uniform, at least in the pictures i can see.

it looks the same as the red crosses, - were they mine i'd throw a little brown on my red and stipple a little darker blood. or better still if you have them a mix of tamaaya clear red and smoke makes the best blood i've ever seen

it's a very small thing though, as these guys do look absolutely great

Well, that's just plain awesome, what else can I say.

Although I agree with the poster above about the blood. Mixing Baal Red with Red Gore and Devlan Mud does give interesting effects. I've used soemthing similar on my Wolves... but I just can't exactly recall how I did those. >.<

Outstanding work mate. The finished product is so clean and exact, it looks like something made by GW.

Cheers!

@Hudson - Thanks matey, glad you like them.

@25mm - Cheers mate, that's high praise indeed. If you think this is good, you'll love the tent.

@Draz - Yeah, they are better pics than the ones I showed you. On paper cuts, how are your nuts? you rubbing them better? lol

@HotPanda - Cheers matey, trying to find a lightbox provider in the UK is a nightmare, I think I'm going to have bite the bullet and get one shipped over.

@Da Masta Cheef - I'm working on the tent this weekend while the wife is away on a girly break, so it should be next week mate.

@Karitas - Cheers mate, in truth, it's a lot darker in real life. I had to seriously up the brightness of the pics and that's why it looks so bright, but thanks for the honest opinion, I do appreciate it.

@Hal'jin - Cheers mate, thanks for the tip, give mixing coffee granules in with blood red a go, I think you'll like the results.

@Crosser Modelling - Thanks mate, hopefully I'll have a group shot for the end of next week - fingers crossed!

@Wienas - Thanks matey!

@Blitzspear - Cheers mate, I was actually looking at your tutorial yesterday. Did you ever add that overhead light?

@Col. Hessler - Thanks mate, must admit, I do feel like I'm getting better at this conversion lark.

Wonderful stuff! Really - I'm so impressed...

I thought somehting like that might be the case Col. - it happens often to me that the pictures dont resemble the "in the flesh" procudt.

It's somehting I've been working on getting better at.

If i ever "crack" it I'll blog about how :)

@Jaybe - Thanks mate.

@Jmezz382 - Cheer mate, not sure if it'll be Harker or the tent next. Time will tell :-)

@CanolliCrusader - Thanks mate, more coming soon.

@Blitzspear - Thanks for the link mate. I might give that a go.

@Drax - Cheers mate, I thought you'd like it ;-)

@Karitas - Hopefully, once I've sorted a lightbox, I'll be able to post proper pics. If you do crack it, let me know, that'd be a blog I'd love to read.

As one combat medic to the other I am looking forward to seeing what you come up with next ....

Col. Corbane said...

CMT's for the win mate - lol

Next up is just a tent mate, I've made enough life saving stuff, time for some life ending stuff!

Admiral Drax said...

I've seen paper towel (the nasty green stuff from hand dryers) used to make good canvas before, mate; when wetted with glue, I think...

Col. Corbane said...

Thanks for the tip mate but I've already got the babywipes lined up for the tent project.

I just had to make sure I avoided the ones with teddy bears imprinted on them.
