About a month ago, I showed you the WIP pics of my Leman Russ Executioner. Well, I've finally finished it and so I thought I'd share the pics with you. So, here's the latest addition to 152 Armoured Assault Company .....
This marks the end of another project, I'd planned to paint up six battle tanks for the armoured company and this is number six. I'm not planning to do any more tanks for the company any time soon but at some point I'll be adding the last three variants and a company command tank. In the meantime, I'll get them all together and get a group shot done, so expect that sometime soon.

Another great piece of work. I like the scraped up lower front where the Russ has been overcoming obstacles.
Also, a great idea on how to use all those HW Team sandbags sitting in my bits box!
Good job with the weathering--I especially like the insignia marking on the left front track guard. Very cool.
My executioner's templates always seem to scatter wildly, BUT even when its shots land in a wild buckshot pattern it tends to scare the bejesus out of whomever is on the receiving end! Like the purple btw, not a common color on tanks!
Top notch work mate. Not much more I can say. Your work is so consistently good...keep at it.
Cheers
Really nice work! Everthing really seems to fit together well!
Great job, love the purple plasma! Very consistant work man, keep it up.
Quick question:
Are you making sandbags out of green stuff? or are those from some IG kits?
Like the dusty rumble-tumble look you have going on here. Well done.
What a beautiful model! Man, that's nice work.
How do you like it in-game - is it worth the points?
Brent
I also want to comment on the purple...have you a step-by-step to getting that effect? :)
I like the decision to go with the purple for the plasma, I don't think I've ever seen that before. Definitely stands out nicely. Beautiful work as always!
Sweet!
Looks great Col !
I really like your tank it looks sweet (just a question why the smurf hate? when there is another armies deserving more of it.)
It's looking awesome! The grey and blue work really well together.
Very nice! The extra details are well done - enough to add to the charm of the tank, not too much that would be distracting.
But what's up with that heavy bolter? There shouldn't be anything that isn't AP2 on that baby! ;-)
amazing job. I really like the purple and camoflauge on the tank. I have to paint mine up soon, and this is a great way to get motivated to actually start painting it.
I've got one thing to say... when we next have a game, I don't want this anywhere near the board. :-p
Looks amazing, you have a lot more patience than I when it comes to painting tanks. It shows.
You'll need this baby as Marbo won't be a legal model in the club tourny apparently. lol
Looks good, a nice cammo colour choice.
The FW turret is definately nicer than the plastic one.
@ot Kevin - Cheers matey.
@Darkwing - Thanks mate, all my vehicles have ident flashes, it's a kickback from my squadie days.
@DMC - Same here mate, I don't think the damn things hit yet but it's psychological effect is undeniable!
@Hessler - Cheers mate, glad you liked it.
@Chris - Thanks mate.
@CC - Cheers mate, the sandbags are from the heavy weapon sprues, I just cut the knife off.
@Max - Thanks mate, they are a bit dirty - lol
@Brent - Cheers mate, game wise, it's more psy ops than damaging and in truth, I'd rather have two vendettas and a marbo but then that could be because so far, I haven't managed to hit anything with it yet.
@TKE - It's dead easy mate, base of warlock purple, then a highlight of testicle pink with a purple ink wash finish.
@Mordian7th - Cheers mate, I've always done purple for plasma, I don't know why, I just have ever since I started with me marines.
@clt40k - Glad you like it mate.
@jmezz382 - Cheers mate.
@woroxon - Thanks mate, on the smurf hate, it's down to the amount of smurf armies at my local club mate, I need a tank just for them ;-)
@zombieburger - Cheers mate
@sonsoftaurus - Thanks mate, I decided against the las cannon on this one, it'd be a bit too expensive!
@ninjaman - Cheers matey, glad it's motivated you.
@GSS - I was thinking of you when I painted it matey! There's a lot of Marbo hate at the club, I just don't understand why.
@Gotthammer - Yeah, I prefer it to the plastic one, the new one looks a bit phallic for my liking.

The Ryza pattern executioner is just better than the plastic one. Does that make the plastic kit one a Pheaton pattern one, I wonder ?
I really like the fastenings to hold the spare track links down.
Huh. That IS easy. Okay, where did I put those Spirit Stones...
