2nd Platoon - 571 Infantry company

It started out as an idea, just a little over a year ago, but I've finally finished it. So guys, here's 2nd Platoon of 571 Infantry company....

In total, there's 100 guardsmen comprising of a command squad, 2 special weapon squads, 5 heavy weapon squads and 5 infantry squads. There's no conscripts, the Corbanian 1st is a professional army! There's close up's of 2nd platoon in their last muster pic here.

I can't actually believe I've finished it, it seems like I've been painting bog standard guardsmen forever. Now that they're done, I've just got a few bits and bobs to finish up the existing projects and I'll be ready to start my 2010 projects, more on those in a future blog guys.

Congrates Colonel !

I am sure they are ready to take the field for the Emperor

I worked out that over the last four months I've painted up 73 guardsmen, 15 heavy weapons teams and 7 vehicles. All of which pales in comparison to this Platoon. Absolutely fantastic work, it really is inspirational.

Excellent work sir- always nice to see the boys in parade formation.

So, now it's time to start the 3rd platoon? :-p

The guys look great. Once upon a yesteryear I collected a Steel Legion army. Had fun with it, but realized that I just don't have the capacity to paint that many guys all the same... at least not in any sort of reasonable time frame.

They look brilliant dude. Really, really nice work :D

Congratulations, Colonel! They look absolutely spectacular. One of these days I really need to buckle down and actually finish off the 7th... Inspirational stuff as always, can't wait to see what's next!

They look amazing, especially all line up against the cityscape scenery. Congratulations on a job well done, and for painting so many guardsmen.

Wow, they do look great! Truly inspirational that you've put this together in a little over a year.

Awesome work, Colonel! Having them all lined up at attention makes the drudgery of painting guardsman after guardsman well worth it. I can only hope when I'm done with my Cadian 265th, they'll look as sharp as your 2nd Platoon lads.

Very impressive CC!! That's how it should be done. For a project that took a year, you have managed to keep the painting on this large project consistent!

Way to go!!

Gee, and here I was impressed with finishing my 25 man platoons...lol. Looking good! Hell, they look better than mine!

Cracking job mate, but how has the platoon command got so many men!? I'm assuming they're there to round out the magic 100.

Top work.

Looking good dude, I think I've seen most of these on the table when you played Andy, they do look epic.

I was going to say I can't wait to blow them off the table, but we both know what happened when I last said that, so I won't. :-p

Nice job!

I tip my hat to you Sir. You truly are a gentleman and a painter. Great choice on the colour scheme as well as it is one that stands out from the the other regiments. Cheers, thanks for all the fish, and cannot wait to see what you have in store for the future.

Congratulations on getting them all done.
I've just started work on 95 infantry, 11 Chimeras and 3 Sentinels for my next 2000 points of Guard. It's only my 3rd Guard infantry army....

@jmezz382 - Cheers mate, they already have mate, they did the bossman proud!

@Soundwave - That's a pretty impressive amount for four months matey, I wish I could knock models out at that rate.

@Max - Cheers matey.

@Dverning - Actually mate, it's 1st (Vets) platoon next. I figure I'm going to be painting guard for at least another five years.

@Paul Chana - Thanks mate.

@Mordian7th - I'll look forward to seeing the 7th on parade. I'll be finishing the armoured company and the field ambulance next, so keep your eyes peeled.

@DarkTemplar - Cheers mate, it's been a labour of love.

@The other Kevin - Thanks matey, sometime I can't believe how long I've continued on just one project.

@Paul Wu - I'm sure they will mate, can't wait to see them.

@Zorcon - Thanks mate, must admit, I'm pretty pleased that I've managed to maintain a standard across the project. Or perhaps that means I haven't progressed as a painter? :-(

@Da Masta Cheef - I think your look cool mate, and I was impressed with my first 25, I just kept adding to them! lol

@Soapy - Cheers mate, I like to have a little variation with my command squad selection, hence the extra guys. The fact they brought the platoon upto 100 was purely accidental, or maybe it was fate! Who knows - lol

@King's Standard Bearer - ;-) I do it just for you matey! lol

@Dark Apostle Drazilek - Cheers dude, I see you're learning to watch what you say, the dice gods are fickle creatures!

@HOTpanda - Thanks matey, I'm looking forward to seeing what you come up with too!

@Chris - Cheers mate, another life guarder hey? Have you got a blog?

@Farthestgoose - Cheers matey, you go for it. Glad I've inspired you!

Wow, inspirational work there mate! Loving it all. Particularly liking the camo scheme. What paint did you use for the grey fatigues?
