Finally got all the Russ's together for a group shot, so here's 152 Armoured Assault Company mustered for war. The company is finished for the time being but I am planning on adding the final three variants from the codex at some point as well as a company command tank. Smurf killing executioner finished

About a month ago, I showed you the WIP pics of my Leman Russ Executioner. Well, I've finally finished it and so I thought I'd share the pics with you. So, here's the latest addition to 152 Armoured Assault Company .....

This marks the end of another project, I'd planned to paint up six battle tanks for the armoured company and this is number six. I'm not planning to do any more tanks for the company any time soon but at some point I'll be adding the last three variants and a company command tank. In the meantime, I'll get them all together and get a group shot done, so expect that sometime soon.

Vanquisher added to 152 Armoured Assault Company

I made the latest TOEMP challenge deadline by nineteen minutes, finishing just before midnight last night. I'm quite please on how it's come out, sorry the pics are brilliant. I must sort out my lighting at some point. Anyway, here's tank number 5 of 152 Armoured Assault Company.





All I need to do now is the executioner, which will bring the company strength up to 6 Russes and then I'm done with the company for a while. Finally, a quick shout out for some blogging love .....


On Tuesday, I realised that I'd run out of transfers for my tanks, so I put out a call to my fellow bloggers, and they responded on Wednesday and the transfers started to drop on Thursday. Now that's what I call a community. Big thanks to Craig from the 8th, Paul from Exponent and Siph from Weemen.

Just got to wait for the next challenge now, it should drop sometime today.

UPDATE - EPIC FAIL

I've just noticed as I was putting the vanquisher in my display cabinet. In my rush to get it done, I've put the wrong fething transfers on. I've put 571 which is my infantry company number instead of 152. Guess I know what I'm doing today, luckily, I've got plenty of spare transfers now - lol.

UPDATE 2 - SAVE!

I managed to fix the ident panels, it's not the best fix but it's passable. They do come off a bit darker than my other vehicles ident panels but not excessively. There's a lesson in this somewhere.

Leman Russ Vanquisher WIP

Well, I may have been distracted by my recent project for little man's school but I have managed to get some work done on my Guard. Here's the latest addition for 152 Armoured Assault Company, a Vanquisher.




I picked up some FW turrets when I was at Warhammer World back in May. The hull was a trade with a friend, it needed quite a bit of work as it was badly put together, but it should be fine once it's painted up. A quick word about the FW turrets, the notch that fits into the russ hull is smaller than the hole, so I added a couple of strips of thin plasticard to widen it a little. The green stuff is just to keep the turret level as the cannon forced it to tilt forwards a little.


I'm also working on a few models to finish the company command squad. I'm trying to tie up as many units as possible so I can get stuck into my veteran platoon, hopefully, it won't take to long as I only have 6 heavy weapons teams and a ten man squad to finish 2nd platoon, making it a full platoon with over 100 models.

Demolisher added to 152 AAC

I've been busy these past few day, busy adding more armour to 152 Armoured Assault company. Vehicle number 4 is a demolisher. It's an old pattern demolisher that I've had built for a while but never got round to finishing.





I'm not sure what sort of Russ variant I'm going to do next, I've got the standard model along with a FW vanquisher and executioner turrets. Any suggestions are very welcome.

TOEMP

Along with a few other bloggers, I've embarked on 73rd's painting challenge. Although I was too late to take part in the first challenge (I joined quite late and was already working on the demolisher) I'm ready for the second. We've been challenged to paint 125pts worth of elites by the 27th!

So, I've dug out my codex and Marbo and six ratlings come bang on 125pts, it must be fate as I happen to have the perfect Marbo model and six cadian snipers. Yes, I know they're not ratlings, but there's no way those ulgy RT kickbacks are making it into my army, basically, I just don't like the models.

I'm planning to sculpt a cloak on Marbo, but this is going to be my first bit of real sculpting. If anyone knows any good tutorials on scultping cloaks, please let me know. Must admit, it's a bit daunting, but the whole point about me taking on the challenge was to challenge myself, not sit in my comfort zone.

Tournament

I never been to one before but with my local club closed for the summer (don't ask) I'm a bit staved of gaming. When one of the group sorted an impromptu tournament, I thought what the hell!

It's on Saturday, 1750pts, 4 games and I'm taking guard. That might be a bit obvious but I know the guys at the club frequent my blog and I'm giving nothing away ;-)

Finally, Stowage

Not the sort I plaster over my Russes, but the sort we store our models in. In an ongoing attempt to keep my nearest and dearest happy, I'm been sorting all my boxes and bits into stack and store boxes.

Well, if you're in the UK, I'm found a blinder, Morrisons are currently selling two 25ltr stack and store boxes for £7. It was such a good deal, I got eight for less than the new Russ kit. They're the green topped boxes in this pic.

152 Armoured Assault Company

Da Tanks, there's nothing more glorious than a tank formation on the move. Long term plans for this company include adding another 6 variants to fill it out to 9 before adding a modified command tank.

I've already done quite a bit on the next demolisher and I've got the bits from forgeworld to make either an executioner or a vanquisher after that.
