Parade Ground New Recruits

Finally, I think we've reached a point where a cull is needed, there's a few who've fallen and the blogroll needs cleaning up. So, I'll be removing all the blogs that haven't been posted to in the past six months over the weekend.

December Parade Ground recruits
A little late with the New Year, but here's December's new parade ground recruits. When I first started the Parade Ground bloglist, there were guard blogs everywhere but they seem to be getting thin on the ground now, so find new recruits is getting harder with each month.
Has anyone else noticed how many of the new space wolf blogs have gone quiet recently? I'm expecting to see quite a few Nids blogs popup with the new codex coming out soon. Anyway, back to the recruits.

November Parade Ground recruits
Here's this months additions to The Parade Ground bloglist. There's not many this month, mainly because I haven't had time to seek out any myself, so these are just the blogs who've requested to join the bloglist.
I Love Yellow Paint - a painters blog who's got some excellent guard stuff. His empire guard conversions are well worth checking out
Elotsip's Warhammer Blog - a guard blog dedicated to traitor guard. Full of excellent conversions that are very well painted. Well worth a look.
17th Traitor Mech - another traitor dedicated guard blog that's got some excellent Rogue Trader stuff.
Ultrawerke - a blog full of outstanding conversions, check out the must see manticore.
The Emperor Protects - another dedicated guard blog that's got everything from list building to model building.
The Icarus 5th - finally another blog dedicated to all things guard. Check out the night vision goggles tutorial, it's inspired.

October Parade Ground recruits
Imperial Armour - an excellent blog full of Guard and FoW stuff. Check out his troopers, they're really life like and very well painted.
WH40K Imperial Naval Infantry - a project blog based on the Imperial Navy, it's got some excellent concepts, can't wait to see how they turn out.
Tiberius Prime - a brand new blogger with some classic mini's. Go visit, leave him some comments, we all needed a bit of encouragement when we first started (Thanks Drax/Ron)
Why I will never have money - if tournaments and guard are your thing, then I'd check out NemFX's blog.
A Canadian in space - a brilliant blog full of WWI guard conversion goodness. Well worth checking out.

Bits and Bobs
A tale of even more painters!
At first I wasn't sure if I would join in with 73rd's TOEMP project but I've been mulling it over and I think I'm going to give it a go. At first, I wasn't sure that I'd be able to meet the deadlines with a busy family and work life but then I started thinking about it. I'm hoping the it'll help me vary what I paint week from week, and push me to try new techniques. I'm not that hopeful that I'll meet many of the deadline, but I'm going to give it a damn good go.
So, bring it on 73rd, what's next?
The Parade Ground.
It's growing well, I'm really surprised by how many people are joining up and even more surprised by how many are displaying the widget - thanks guys. If any of you know of any Guard related blogs that arn't already listed, please feel free to recommend them. I really want to make this a great place to catch up guard blogs from across the community.
On the painting station.
At the moment, my valkyrie is sitting primed waiting for some paint, but I'm not quite sure on how it's going to go, and until I can see the finished model in my minds eye, I can't start painting it. So, as well as having the two heavy weapon squads hiding between the paint pots, I've also got a demolisher half painted up, hopefully, I'll be adding another Russ to my Armoured company soon.
Also, last night whilst flicking through the codex and a couple of old WD's, I spotted my Marbo. He'll need a little converting, and even a bit of sculting, but I think he'll work just right and I've got all the bits I need for him already. I don't want to say much more as I'm thinking of saying him for one of the TOEMP's challanges.

Finally, I don't know how many of you will find this funny, but it's had me and my little lad in stitches all morning. I especially like the stunt bike eggs.

Guardsmen, We Need You!
Foot Sloggers, Tread Heads, Gunners and Glory Boys, WE NEED YOU!In conjunction with From The Warp Ron and inspired by Twilights 'Picking up the slack' blog, I'm proud to bring you The Parade Ground, a FTW blog list dedicated to the Guard.
We're not planning to do any group articles or community posts, just simply be a hub for Guard player to promote their blogs and find what other Guard bloggers are upto. I've already built a reasonable list of Guard blogs on my own but if yours isn't there, then send me the link and I'll get you added.
I don't want to be exclusive, but it is a Guard bloglist, and so if your blog isn't dedicated or doesn't have a reasonable amount of Guard related posts, then this list probably isn't for you. The amount of posts you have doesn't matter, you can have 1, as long as it's a Guard one, traitors welcome (That's something I didn't think I'd be saying on my blog!). If you're unsure, drop me a line anyway. The list isn't restricted to just FTW members, it's open to every Guarder but if you've not joined FTW yet, you're really missing out on a great community.
To get your blog added to the list, simply drop me an email to colcorbane@gmail.com with your name and the web address for your blog or alternative, just pop a comment on this post with your blogs address and I'll get you listed.
There is a widget to display the PG logo on your blog and help promote the bloglist if you want, this is in no way mandatory, have a look at the PG column header for the link to get the widget.
